Penn Student Agencies offers transferable job experience and training to undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Pennsylvania. Our Student Executive Leadership would like to emphasize that you DO NOT have to be business-oriented to join our team and excel!

PSA values growth and rewarding dedicated students, that is why all Agency Leadership positions and the PSA Executive Suite are occupied by students! Students interested in running one of our businesses should start early, as Directors and Executives are hired and chosen internally.

Additional promotion opportunities are available for students at all experience levels. We continually nurture our community by hiring passionate, ambitious, and adaptable students.

Our hope is that PSA will not only be a place for professional development but also a tight-knit community of like-minded students. General Applicants – If you are interested in working for Penn Student Agencies but you are unsure where you want to work or if you are concerned about experience level – then apply as a general applicant. Your application will be reviewed by the PSA Talent Acquisition team and then you will receive a list of recommended positions within PSA that you could be a good fit for. If you wish to proceed with one of the positions, your application will be forwarded to the respective hiring team and they will get back to you with more information on interviewing for the position or a status update regarding your application.

Our mission is to teach transferable skills and business management to Penn students by providing hands-on entrepreneurial experience outside the classroom, so that these students can be competitive in the job market and prepared for their post-graduation pursuits. We require the following elements in order to gain the most background on a potential candidate and to replicate the internship & post-graduation job application process.

I. Cover Letter **

A cover letter allows the PSA Talent Acquisition and respective hiring team to get to know an applicant and their motives for applying to the position. This application element should be error-free, professional formatted, and no longer than 1 page.

In your cover letter please address the following:

  1. Why do you want to work for Penn Student Agencies?
  2. What do you hope to bring to the team you are applying to?
  3. What skills and experience do you hope to gain while at PSA?

If you are applying to a specific business, please also include:

  1. Why do you want to work for “Agency Name” specifically and what position you are applying to?

ONLY First Services Laundry Associate Applicants are exempt from the Cover Letter Requirement! 

General Applicants should address the cover letter to “Hiring Director”. 

II. Resume or CV *

A resume/CV allows the PSA Talent Acquisition and respective hiring team to learn more about an applicant’s previous experiences and interests.

A note for first-years – do not worry just about experience! Highlight the SKILLS you gained and what extracurriculars you were involved in.

This application element should be error-free, professional formatted, and no longer than 1 page.

III. Schedule *

Please include your upcoming Academic Class Schedule. Mandatory Club meetings & other Jobs should be included in this application element as well. This schedule should include Sunday through Saturday.

IV. Portfolio **

If you are applying to: Penn Lens; Penn Student Design; Marketing Manager positions; or the Vice President of Marketing, you are required to submit a design or marketing portfolio of your works. This portfolio may be a collection of pieces, a website, or a link to a folder. Feel free to email the Executive Director/ EVP of the division you are applying to if you have questions on the portfolio.

This application element should be error-free, professional formatted, and clearly indicate all materials related to the portfolio.

For most potential candidates, the application should be no longer than 3 pages. If the application contains portfolio, it may be longer. Applications must be submitted in Portable Document Format (PDF).

Incomplete or unreadable applications will not be opened or reviewed for consideration.
